Jiraiya is a major recurring character in the Naruto anime and manga series. He is a talented ninja, but most recognized for his unique ability to use magic-like jutsu through the writing of fūinjutsu. Jiraiya’s background remains unclear; all that’s known is that he was trained by the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi alongside Orochimaru and Tsunade — who were also taught in the art of fūinjutsu and turned out to be great talents in it too — and became very powerful after mastering his techniques.
Jiraiya was one of Konohagakure’s Sannin. Jiraiya was renowned for his extraordinary skill as a ninja and reputation as a hermit and suspicious individual with stupendous ninja abilities. He travelled the world in search of knowledge that would help his pals, the numerous novels he composed, and posthumously, the entire planet – knowledge that would be passed down to his godson and final apprentice, Naruto Uzumaki.
